From a quiet vinyl bar to late-night techno dancing, here’s a list of different nightlife joints for every kind of mood.

Going out comes in all shapes and sizes. In a city as colorful as Manila, there will always be something for you no matter what vibe you’re feeling when you’re finally off the clock.

So if you’re not sure where to go this weekend, check these six different nights out:

1. For when you want to catch up with your barkada and maybe drunkenly spill a few secrets… go to Refinery for unlimited wine.

This snazzy dinner place has branches in Salcedo Village and Rockwell, and is known for its PHP500 unlimited wine. It’s perfect for catching up with college friends you haven’t seen in a while, and maybe letting the truth spill out after a glass too many. Let the kwentuhan begin, and the forgetting of “using your indoor voice” along with it. Do reserve in advance as tables are usually fully booked on weekends.

Refinery Salcedo: Salcedo Village, G/F Frabelle Corporate Plaza, 129 Bautista cor, Tordesillas, Makati, 1209 Metro Manila
Refinery Rockwell: Joya Tower, 28 Plaza Drive Rockwell Center, Makati, 1210 Metro Manila

2. For when you want to show off your general knowledge, wit, and strategy skills…get a quizzical education at Belle & Dragon’s quiz night or hop on over to Game Over PH for hours of board games.

All competitive types, gather round. Plenty of quiz nights have been popping up all over the place. Belle & Dragon hosts quiz nights every Tuesday and Thursday, for general knowledge and music trivia respectively. These are usually fast-paced and hectic in nature, perfect for when you’re tired of stress in the work environment and might want it to come with some drinks, for once! If you’d like to take command of your own games, check out Game Over in Xavierville, which doesn’t just have a crazy selection of board games and consoles, but also a great menu of drinks and bar chow.

Belle & Dragon: OPL Building, 100 Don Carlos Palanca, Legazpi Village, Makati, 1229 Metro Manila

Game Over PH: 31 Xavierville Ave, Quezon City, Metro Manila

3. For when you feel like appreciating the finer things in life… duck into a cool vinyl bar 78-45-33 or watch live jazz at Cubao’s Tago.

Sax, whiskey, and sophistication. What else could you ask for on a Saturday night? 78-45-33 is a one-of-a-kind, lowkey Makati bar that plays real vinyls on state-of-the-art turntables as you sip on their dirty martinis. Sound’s never felt so smooth! If you want something live, on the other hand, go to the recently renovated Tago Jazz Cafe in Cubao for world-class Filipino acts (they were once lauded by UNESCO for their international contributions to the genre) and excellent unli-rum cokes.

78-45-33: LPL Mansion, San Agustin Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City, Metro Manila

Tago Jazz Cafe: 14 Main Ave, Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila

4. For when you’re itching to delve into the mosh pit, drink in hand…go to SaGuiJo, Mow’s, or Route 196 for a gig (and then some).

These legendary gig staples have been helping local talent put their feet in the door, and will continue to do so for years to come. Who knows, you might catch the next She’s Only Sixteen or IV of Spades headlining one of the weekday lineups. Sway (or mosh) to the music, and don’t hesitate to mingle! Love the space but want something slightly different? Stop by Mow’s on a Tuesday night for their weekly standup set, featuring some of Comedy Manila’s best performers. It’s the same music-loving crowd but with extra laughs.

SaGuiJo: 7612 Guijo, San Antonio Village, Makati, 1203 Metro Manila

Mow’s: 20 Matalino St, Diliman, Quezon City, 1100 Metro Manila

Route 196: 196-A Katipunan Ave, Project 4, Quezon City, 1109 Metro Manila

5. For when you want the house party vibe but can’t be bothered to host…get the same feeling at Poblacion’s Apartment and Annex House, or Cubao’s Today x Future.

Explore Apartment’s seemingly endless number of units and feel like you’re in Brooklyn at someone’s massive house party. If you’re feeling even more homesick, try out the cozier Annex House just down the street. It’s a friendly, intimate crowd into ‘80s hits and yacht cocktails. For similar moods in the North, go to the classic Today X Future in Cubao, usually packed but always welcoming.

Apartment: 5663 Don Pedro, Poblacion, Makati City, Metro Manila

6. For when you want to stay up all night until the sun starts to creep…dance your shoes off at XX/XX and the neighboring Black Market, or BGC’s Nectar

You’re done with your dinner, pre-game, and Poblacion crawl, but you know you still have plenty of energy to spare. Keep the night alive at these Chino Roces clubs that are pretty much open ‘til dawn on the weekends, and if you want to truly get lit with friends, BGC’s Nectar is a great option.

XX/XX: Warehouse 20B, La Fuerza 1 Compound 2241, Don Chino Roces Avenue, Makati, 1231 Metro Manila
https://www.facebook.com/2020manila/
Black Market: 2723 Sabio St, Makati, 1233 Metro Manila

Nectar: The Fort Strip, 5th Avenue, Corner 26th St, Taguig, 1634 Metro Manila

Go after the nights that suit your lifestyle, whether it’s a wacky night with the barkada or grooving to city pop on the dance floor. The night’s long anyway and you can always mix things up! Everyone deserves a beautiful life, and you deserve to party it out the way you choose. So go grab a drink and create yours now.

Sincerely,

The COHO Living Team.
